Returned from West Africa healthcare worker
has been detected with Ebola virus and is
being treated in hospital in Glasgow, BBC
informs.
She arrived from Sierra Leone on Sunday
night and now the woman is in isolation at
Glasgow’s Gartnavel Hospital.
According to the available information, all
possible contacts with the case are being
investigated, including on flights to Scotland
via Heathrow.
This case has been confirmed by UK Health
Secretary Jeremy Hunt.
It is also known that she will be flown from
Glasgow and taken to the Royal Free
Hospital in north London as soon as
possible.
Mr. Hunt states that the government is doing
absolutely everything to keep the UK safe.
The health secretary adds: “We are also
reviewing our procedures and protocols for
all the other NHS workers who are working
at the moment in Sierra Leone.”
