Explosion Rocks Kano Central Mosque

Reports we are monitoring indicate that an
Improvised Explosive Device, IED, has gone
off at the Central Mosque, Kano just as the

Muslim faithful were observing the Juma’at
prayers on Friday afternoon.
The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi
II, who usually leads prayers at the Mosque,
was reportedly absent when the explosion
occurred.
Details of casualties are still sketchy as of
the time of publishing this report but many
people are feared dead.
No group has claimed responsibility yet for
the attack.
